ABOUT THE DISTRICT GOVERNOR

Renée is a teambuilding expert, professional speaker, and published author.  She is the founder of  Delta Systems, LLC, a teambuilding consultation and training company formed in 1982.  Renée uses her passion for auto racing as a metaphor to inspire teams to work together effectively and take the checkered flag.

Dick retired from Ford Motor Company as a manager and automotive design engineer.   He is now the business manager of Delta Systems.  They work together to present their popular Pit Crew Challenge Seminar to business and industry.  Renée and Dick are the parents of two daughters who died in childhood from a degenerative disease.  In their memory, they are benefactors of disAbility Connections in Jackson, Michigan.

Renée is a Boy Scout since she joined the Great Sauk Trail Council in 1989.  She will serve as Executive President of the Council in 2009.  Renée is a Silver Beaver honoree.  Both Dick and Renée are James E. West recipients, Golden Eagles and benefactor donors.

Renée joined the Rotary Club of Jackson (Noon) in 1989 and has perfect attendance.  She served on the board twice, and on numerous committees.  In December 2000, she served as Team Leader to the Group Study Exchange Team to India.  While in India, the team participated in a National Immunization Day.  Renée has served as GSE District Chairman, and sends each GSE team off to a good start with her Fast Start™ teambuilding training.  In 2003, Renée transferred to Michigan Center-JCE Rotary Club and served as Centennial President.  Renée and Dick are both Paul Harris Fellows and RI Foundation Permanent Fund benefactors.  They have established the S. Richard and Renée M. Merchant Endowed Rotary Peace Fellow Scholarship.
