Renée
is a teambuilding expert, professional speaker, and published
author. She is the
founder of
Delta
Systems, LLC, a teambuilding consultation and training company
formed in 1982.
Renée uses her passion for auto racing as a metaphor to inspire
teams to work together effectively and take the checkered flag.
Dick retired
from Ford Motor Company as a manager and automotive design
engineer. He
is now the business manager of Delta Systems.
They work together to present their popular Pit Crew
Challenge Seminar to business and industry.
Renée and Dick are the parents of two daughters who died
in childhood from a degenerative disease.
In their memory, they are benefactors of disAbility
Connections in Jackson, Michigan.
Renée is a
Boy Scout since she joined the Great Sauk Trail Council in 1989.
She will serve as Executive President of the Council in
2009. Renée is a
Silver Beaver honoree.
Both Dick and Renée are James E. West recipients, Golden
Eagles and benefactor donors.
Renée joined
the Rotary Club of Jackson (Noon) in 1989 and has perfect
attendance. She
served on the board twice, and on numerous committees.
In December 2000, she served as Team Leader to the Group
Study Exchange Team to India.
While in India, the team participated in a National
Immunization Day.
Renée has served as GSE District Chairman, and sends each GSE
team off to a good start with her Fast Start™ teambuilding
training. In 2003,
Renée transferred to Michigan Center-JCE Rotary Club and served
as Centennial President.
Renée and Dick are both Paul Harris Fellows and RI
Foundation Permanent Fund benefactors.
They have established the S. Richard and Renée M.
Merchant Endowed Rotary Peace Fellow Scholarship.
