PolioPlus Society
About: At the District board meeting on Saturday, April 24, 2021 the board approved the formation of the PolioPlus Society (PPS). This would increase the members knowledge and hopefully get more members giving to the Polio Eradication program.
It would require donating at least $100 this Rotary year which ends on June 30, 2021, to be entered as charter members of the society. We set up a committee called,” PolioPlus Society,”
To be a member requires that the member pledges to donate at least $100 per Rotary year to Polio until Polio is totally eradicated. To make it understood that it takes three years with no cases of Polio for it to be declared eradicated from a country, the funds are needed even once there are no more cases for an additional three years for the cost of surveillance to make sure no more cases show up.
District 6360 Rotarians have been very supportive of the Polio Eradication effort over the last 30 years. We have given over $1.9 million dollars. Let’s put it over $2 million. Districts worldwide are adopting this program.
